15 Prohibitions of Rasulullah for His Descendants

Prophet Khidr (AS) came to me and said:

"O Ahmad, sit down, ignore your pain. Indeed, your noble grandfather Muhammad came to me in my dream and conveyed a special piece of advice for you. Listen, write it down, practice it, and remember this advice.

O Ahmad, the Noble Prophet Muhammad said:

'THE FAITH AND PIETY OF MY UMMAH ARE NOT COMPLETE WITHOUT BEING ACCOMPANIED BY GOOD MANNERS AND NOBLE CHARACTER. AND THEY ARE NOT CONSIDERED MY DESCENDANTS IF THEY ASK FOR GIFTS WHILE THEIR STOMACHS ARE FULL, YET TO THEIR LEFT AND RIGHT, THERE ARE THE POOR AND NEEDY HOLDING THEIR STOMACHS DUE TO HUNGER. O KHIDR, BY ALLAH, WHO HOLDS MUHAMMAD’S SOUL, THE BOND OF LINEAGE WITH ME IS SEVERED FOR MY DESCENDANTS WHO ACT WITH ARROGANCE AND PRIDE.'

O Ahmad, write down and practice the fifteen prohibitions for the descendants of the Prophet, so that you will be safe on the Day of Reckoning, in the embrace of the noble Prophet Muhammad.

O Ahmad, among the things forbidden for the descendants of Rasulullah are:

  1. Begging
  2. Speaking obscenely or rudely
  3. Accepting zakat
  4. Raising one's head in front of others and looking at them with arrogance
  5. Eating before those closest to them at a meal, even when eating with their own family and dependents
  6. Sitting higher than someone who is more knowledgeable or older
  7. Refusing a guest when in a state of comfort
  8. Turning away from someone who is speaking to them
  9. Standing in prayer or in any situation with their back to an elder without permission, except in unavoidable circumstances
  10. Shouting at their wife or children except in matters of Allah's law
  11. Allowing the poor and orphans to kiss their hand, except by embracing and praying for them, unless it is unavoidable
  12. Being unjust when deciding matters if made a judge
  13. Sleeping without being in a state of ablution
  14. Using charity or donations as they please if entrusted with it
  15. Not eating or drinking before ensuring their animals have been fed and watered in the morning

O Ahmad, this is the advice entrusted by the noble Prophet to you. If you forget any of them, give charity by feeding 41 poor or orphaned individuals, and do not neglect your obligations.

O Ahmad, is it not the case that even a small mistake you make is followed by Allah reminding you through illness as a warning for you to repent and improve yourself? Do not ignore Allah's love and care through the sickness He afflicts upon you. Take water, add a little salt, then seek forgiveness and ask Allah for pardon. Until Allah lifts your illness on the day He has determined.

O Ahmad, no one can be considered a true Wali of Allah if they are far from the 'Clothing of Sharia.' Indeed, there are many in your country who believe a person who has lost their mind is close to Allah and regarded as a Wali. Truly, such behavior is excessive and is akin to the actions of the 'Siddah' of ancient times.

Do you know the meaning of Siddah...?

Siddah refers to a group from my era, during the reign of the great King Zulkarnain, also known as King Sarrugi. At that time, a group of people from a distant land, to protect the honorable children who were afflicted with madness or senility, formed the 'Siddah' group to care for and honor such individuals.

Likewise, during the time of Prophet Ibrahim, indeed, King Zulkarnain, as well as Prophet Ibrahim, forbade such actions, which involved venerating those considered to be Siddah.

And in the time of your noble grandfather Muhammad, I also witnessed similar practices. Your grandfather prohibited believers from believing in trees that give blessings and from interpreting the speech and actions of those who were insane or senile as signs of hidden blessings or miracles arising from strange behaviors.

O Ahmad, there is a great difference between 'Siddah' and the concept of 'Malamatiyyah' and 'Jadzab/Madzub.' Most in your country do not understand the difference. They should refrain from venerating the Siddah and should understand the true meaning of Jadzab. A Wali of Allah who is Jadzab does not forsake the Sharia, except by concealing it within their behavior."

Ahmad F. Bin A. AlwiSyams Al-Makhfy
