Three Causes of Earthly Turmoil

By the shore of the southern sea, Prophet Khidr (AS) came to me and said:

“O Ahmad, write down what I convey to you. Verily, Allah is the All-Seeing and All-Knowing of what you have done during your time in this place. And now has come the month of the victory of Abwa and Khaybar, wherein your noble grandfather was united in marriage with the noble lady Khadijah al-Kubra. Truly, Allah has strengthened the bond of your marriage with your first wife this month, after the many trials and tribulations you both have endured. And the best of women is she who restrains her anger and preserves her husband’s honour. Indeed, Allah has revealed to me every event your first wife has gone through, just as He has protected her from 68 great trials, even before your marriage to her up to this day. Let her be grateful.

O Ahmad, have not your wives known that you have received a command this month of Safar? And are you not earnest in carrying it out? Have not some of your followers seen and been moved by what you have done? And has not the news I have conveyed to you come true? Do they still consider all that I have told you to be falsehood, despite Allah having laid out clear signs before them? Let them take heed.

O Ahmad, verily Allah has not created a wall between the heavens and the earth except that both shall reach their destined times. Such is the parable of Allah’s forgiveness and His perfect love for His servants — it shall never cease until the final day of a servant’s life on this earth. Be patient and strive to carry out Allah’s commands and fulfil the trust of Allah upon your ark. It is not an obligation upon you to seek permission from your two wives in doing righteous deeds or in carrying out your duties upon your ark. Nor is it an obligation when I bring you to Mount Qaf or to the Spring of Life… Is it not Allah who governs both you and me? He is Allah — the One who wills, not you nor I.

O Ahmad, truly your grandfather once faced trials within his household with Sayyidah Aisha and Sayyidah Hafsah. He remained silent, seeking forgiveness and guidance. Meanwhile, his companions grew anxious over his state. The concern of Umar and Abu Bakr surpassed that of the other companions, as they seemed unable to rest, hoping your noble grandfather Muhammad would reveal himself and resolve the matter through the Revelation of Allah.

O Ahmad, silence is better than a thousand words of defence before an angry person. For the silence of one who is God-fearing is silence in the remembrance of his Lord — until Allah elevates his rank and protects him from wrongdoing against himself. So remain silent with Allah while still fulfilling your responsibilities as the leader of the ummah upon the ark of the end times. Is not a silent breeze more soothing than a raging storm? Truly, anger answered with anger leads only to the ruin of both reason and heart.

O Ahmad, your grandfather is indeed the perfect example — in household matters, in carrying out Allah’s commands, as a Messenger and a leader who upheld the light of Allah. Your situation today is not far removed from his — only the intensity of your trials does not match the weight of trials given to your noble grandfather Muhammad. Be patient. Your followers and your wives are aware of the severity of the tests that Allah has bestowed upon you. Were they to truly understand what you are enduring and feeling at this moment, they would feel no fatigue or burden from what they themselves face. Be patient.

O Ahmad, no great upheaval shall befall the earth unless three things exist: a leader with a hard heart, who is rebellious and unjust; corrupt scholars; and the people of Sodom increasing in a nation. Let mankind pay heed.

O Ahmad, upon your ark there are three brothers who deeply respect and love you. Make their land a land of liberation, that they may fulfil their obligations to marry. Give them counsel. Plant two date palms upon the red soil, that Allah may purify it — for such an act will distance them from idolatry.

O Ahmad, remain silent from the time of Zuhr today until the arrival of Jumu’ah prayer tomorrow. Verily, I shall aid you in completing what you are working on. I do not aid you except that it is Allah who is aiding you.”
