The Six Best Chisels to Engrave a Woman’s Heart
Prophet Khidr AS came to me and brought me before a spotless white wall in a high place. Then he gave me a pen and ink and said:
“Write, O Ahmad…” — he said this several times.
“Write as you please… or as your desire wishes.”
Then I gathered my courage and asked him (Prophet Khidr AS), “O Prophet of Allah Khidr, I do not wish to write something when I do not know what you are commanding me to write.”
Then Prophet Khidr AS said:
“Listen, O Ahmad. Indeed, I once experienced the same when I was with Jibril AS, and Jibril conveyed to me words full of wisdom from Allah, the Most Mighty, the Most Majestic:
‘O Khidr, truly Allah is Most Forgiving and Most Merciful. This pure white wall is the record of a woman’s evil deeds — a woman who repented and chose a man to be her husband (Zauji). Therefore, let a man give a dowry according to his means, and when the woman becomes his lawful wife, he must fulfil his duties as Allah will then bestow His abundant sustenance upon him. He must engrave the woman’s heart with a firm chiselling, for indeed a woman’s heart is as hard as stone; ink upon it will not endure, for it can easily be erased. Do you know which chisel is best to carve a woman’s heart so that it becomes beautiful?’
The first chisel is patience,
the second is attention,
the third is kind speech,
the fourth is righteousness,
the fifth is firmness in
teaching Allah’s laws,
and the sixth is gifts.
Indeed, such were the deeds of Adam AS after he was sent down to earth.
O Ahmad, do not fear nor worry over the hearts of your wives, and do not neglect your duty towards the ummah within your ark. Say to your wives: they are those whom Iblis despises. Do you know why? It is because they represent the Shariah of the End Times. Has not Allah commanded His servants to act with justice? Yet some scholars fail to do so towards their wives. Some among them marry more than one woman under the guise of their scholarly robes, promising them Paradise; yet after attaining worldly success, they divorce their first wives and seek beauty as their new companions. Indeed, on the Day of Reckoning, they will be among those whose forgiveness is withheld and who are most numerous in Hell. And some among them trade their lineage, deceiving their wives with their knowledge, while their hearts are filled with lust for other women.
Truly, Allah has decreed upon you to approach your three wives within three days, fairly one for each, so that their hearts may find peace.Let them forgive one another and repent, for those who hate you smile while hoping for your downfall, and those who love you wish success for you and your wives. Do your wives not dislike to see you humiliated and belittled? Then why do they not understand that what you are practising is the Shariah of the End Times? Let them be UmmusSyafinah, so that Allah may forgive their faults and sins, and purify their hearts and souls from diseases.
O Ahmad, one of your followers who lives far in the south has drawn my attention. Indeed, he should plant maize until his fields are full. At first, he will reap mockery, but Allah will cause his crops to flourish. He has given himself a name, and when he first pledged allegiance to you, Allah was pleased with him. Verily, the devils have veiled your sight from seeing him. Look at the verses of prayer wrapped in praise that he has placed within my turban — truly, Gimbal Selatan is your sincere disciple, who perseveres in solitude with his own students. Tell him that I, Balya bin Malkan, have visited his mother’s grave.
O Ahmad, there has been a great rumbling and storm, yet Allah turned the tempest away from the homes of your followers. Do they not see this? Truly, such are signs confirming the truth of what you convey — and such signs will continue until the end of time.
O Ahmad, you must give the command for an enterprise (a factory) to be established on the land situated between two countries, so that your ark may bring blessings upon their lands. It is not obligatory upon you to build five upon five, but rather one by one.
O Ahmad, indeed Allah has raised twenty-one over twenty-one. Be patient. There is no trial heavier than the trial of wealth and authority — for those who are ungrateful shall become the fuel of Hellfire. Say to your four followers who once walked with me in a mosque long ago: let them prepare themselves to build a house within the next five years. Truly, Allah intends to test them and to grant them opportunity, and He will make one of them successful in rice cultivation in his homeland. Let him choose a trustworthy person to manage it, and begin with little, for Allah will cause it to grow and expand. Then he shall return to his current work and dwell with his family, for that is what is best for him to do.
O Ahmad, do not neglect your health and your body’s needs. Give your body its due right of rest, just as I sleep and eat. Is not a third of me within you by Allah’s permission? Stand firmly upon Qof, and strike your staff again, so that Allah may send a sign in the sky to strengthen you in fulfilling all your duties.
O Ahmad, be firm with one of your earliest loyal followers. Let him not ask many questions except from you alone. Let him carry out what you command so that he does not fail again — for this is the last chance Allah grants him.
O Ahmad, truly what your ark shall face in the coming year is triumph. Let them be patient.
O Ahmad, do not seek faults in your third wife, nor harbour any intention to divorce her. For I, Balya bin Malkan, was the one who appointed her for you by Allah’s permission. It was Allah and His Messenger who chose the first, then commanded the second, until Allah revealed the signs of truth regarding those choices. Let you and your wives be patient, and continue to uphold kinship as examples for the End Times. Do they wish for Allah’s wrath to be upon them and turn away from them?”
