Eight Traits of Women Who Are Envied by the Heavenly Maidens

O Ahmad, listen to the news I bring you today, so that peace may descend upon your heart and upon all your followers:

 

O Ahmad, verily Allah has decreed His punishment upon those who act unjustly towards your vessel. There shall be no storms, tempests, lightning, or rain except that they shall gnaw their fingers in regret for their own ignorance... until the month of Rajab becomes a month of joy for your vessel, and a month of grief for those who are unjust.

 

O Ahmad, truly the deeds of a servant who indulges in extravagance during the new year of a transgressing people are in vain. Indeed, giving charity, supporting orphans and the poor are far better acts for the followers of the Noble Prophet on that day, so that Allah may withhold His wrath from the Muslims who ‘burn money’during the last third of the night on the new year’scelebration. Such deeds bring blessings and repel calamities and misfortunes from themselves.

 

O Ahmad, verily the great explosion has already occurred, a sign that Allah is enforcing His decree upon the world. Truly, some mountains in your land shall be levelled in a single blast, and the sky shall be covered with blazing clouds so fierce that some people will cover their ears. Allah will demonstrate His Power by burning tall buildings with a single strike... Are men more fearful of losing the world than of losing the love and mercy of Allah? Let the scholars seal the entrances by which devils infiltrate their hearts. Do they imagine that their lofty buildings are safe from the wrath of Allah? Surely Allah knows well the source of the wealth they use to build them.

 

O Ahmad, I am Balya bin Malkan, commanded to impart knowledge to you. Verily I have heard that your wife intends to cover her entire body and veil her beauty, so that only you and those permitted may see her. Tell your wives that hidden beauty shakes the Throne (‘Arsh) until its fragrance reaches the women who were martyred, even reaching the Noble Messenger of Allah... and the name of that woman is engraved upon luminous white scrolls at the gates of Paradise — from which blossom radiant flowers in the gardens of ‘Illiyyin — each flower upon its stem glorifying Allah and praying for the woman who repents and guards her modesty... causing the heavenly maidens to envy and wonder, saying:

“Has Allah created a celestial maiden whose beauty surpasses ours?”

 

Indeed, such is what transpires in ‘Illiyyin whenever a woman dies while giving birth, dies guarding her chastity, dies in obedience to Allah, the Messenger, and her husband, dies in hunger yet content with her husband’s poverty, dies pure and veiled with her speech guarded, dies slain by her spouse yet remains patient and righteous, dies patiently while being mocked for her looks or her condition, or dies while her faults are exposed though she had repented.

 

O Ahmad, I hear the heavens rumbling because the people of Sodom still exist in your land and in your neighbouring lands. When a group in power shields them, let them repent before a severe warning descends upon their nation. Do they think the tremors beneath their feet are mere trivial shakes? Suddenly Allah will cause an earthquake and submerge part of the island to the east of your country, and some among them will seek protection from others besides Allah. Yet the followers of the Noble Prophet Muhammad will be saved by Allah, because of their faith in Allah and His Messenger, and their belief in the messages you have conveyed.

 

O Ahmad, there is no plant that grows without Allah’s permission, even upon a rock. Be patient, for Allah will show His Power — that crops will flourish upon soil they had neglected, believing it barren. Let those three sisters cultivate the land and set a noble example for their nation. Their harvest shall be ready in only sixty-six days, though they water it merely every three and three (days), and Allah will send rain exactly as the paddy requires. Is that not easy for Allah? Let them proceed and be grateful.

 

O Ahmad, truly your followers do not yet realise that their assistance brings them tranquillity and blessings. Do not reject any among them who wish to help you directly, and do not withdraw yourself out of shyness or hesitation before them.

 

O Ahmad, verily lands other than the three in which your followers now reside have begun to pay attention to the messages you have written. Tell them:

“Indeed, Allah the Almighty shall respond to their challenge, for some among them seek to test you — demanding visible proof concerning their fields and lands — while some Muslims wish to know you and seek blessings for their lands. Most of them dwell in the Land of Zham (Cham/Vietnam), and some are from the region of your noble ancestor’s birth. If they truly believe, Allah will cause water to gush forth upon their barren lands and send down rain to revive their soil — just as the rain descends upon your land and the lands of your followers — as a clear sign from Allah for all that you have written.”
