“The Illness of the Righteous and the Sinners, and the Story of the Lame Man in the Ark of Prophet Nuh (AS)”

O Ahmad, truly I inform you, by the command of Allah, the Most Mighty and Majestic, that my name is Balya bin Malkan. Balya means one who obediently accepts commands. My father was named Malkan because he possessed two royal crowns (the Kingdom of Helas and the first Kingdom of Persia). Indeed, my brother, Prophet Ilyas, and I were born in that era (the 8th and 9th centuries BCE). Truly, Allah informed me, as He informed the Prophets and Messengers, about your noble grandfather Muhammad at the earliest stage of prophethood (the time when Khidr was first appointed as a Prophet).

O Ahmad, indeed Dhul-Qarnayn is from my family, who ruled the land of Persia. Truly, he was a righteous servant to whom Allah granted authority over half of the land of the world. Indeed, the cities of Susa and Perse were once cities blessed by Allah. I narrate this to you so that the Ummah of the Noble Prophet may not bear sin and ignorance. Truly, it is a clear sin and ignorance for those who deny me, and it is likewise sinful and ignorant for those who praise and glorify me excessively. Let them reflect upon my story with Musa.

O Ahmad, say to the Ummah of the Noble Prophet Muhammad that whoever believes in Allah and His Messenger must be cautious when speaking about me. Writing or mentioning my name does not bring blessings; indeed, such a belief is a denial of the Sunnatullah. Convey my story, O Bani Hasan, so that the scholars in your land and in other lands do not speak about me without knowledge and with doubt. Say to them: Indeed, I am Balya bin Malkan, kept alive by Allah. Truly, I dwell between the land of the birth of Prophet Hizba, in the direction of the qiblah, at Mount Qaf in the midst of the ocean. Let them reflect.

O Ahmad, have I not informed you of Allah’s commands upon yourself and upon all that is within them? Do they think that if their names are not mentioned or they are not addressed by you, then they are free from the obligation to strive upon this vessel? Do they think that I, Balya bin Malkan, am not informed by Allah of their condition? Say to them: Allah shows me their state as clearly as I see all the fingers of my own hand. That is easy for Allah to make manifest. There is not a single house among all your followers that I have not visited, by Allah’s command, to pray for their safety by planting reeds upon their houses and land.

O Ahmad, did I not previously inform you of the explosion in the heavens which some among the transgressing people heard? Truly, they ignored the warning because they prioritised their intellect alone. Thus, they assumed it to be a natural phenomenon of the heavens according to their limited reasoning, due to their lack of faith and knowledge. Say to them: Will they believe in Allah and His Messenger, and believe in the Qur’an and the Last Day, only when my brother Isa, son of Maryam, descends to the earth and awakens mankind from their errors and from the sin of associating partners with Allah through him? If so, woe to those who will one day be lined up on the left side, led to Allah’s judgement, and cast into the blazing Fire.

O Ahmad, be firm of heart and ask your two wives to work together to improve the trade that you have built all this time. Be patient with the injustice of those within it who have fled. Truly, I have heard that Allah has decreed humiliation and unrest upon them, and they shall find no peace. Be patient. Do your wives think that the message I convey comes from me or from you? Say: I, Balya bin Malkan, love them as your noble grandfather Muhammad loved them, because their hands fed you when you were ill. Indeed, Allah afflicted you with pain equal to that of ten people suffering the same illness, and Allah severed several nerves in your hips and legs. Truly, this occurred due to your negligence, as you rejected some of Allah’s commands that I conveyed to you. Reflect, be patient, and correct yourself in carrying out the commands of Allah, the Most Mighty and Majestic.

O Ahmad, calm your heart. Indeed, today before the time of dawn, I and three of my brothers will visit you by the command of Allah. Do not show your pain on your face or in your voice, and do not be anxious. Truly, Allah has commanded us to visit you earlier than some of your companions and others who intend to meet you. Listen carefully and pay heed to our counsel. Indeed, it is the tears of your noble grandfather that caused Allah to command me and my three brothers to visit you.

O Ahmad, no servant who is loved by Allah is left without protection, except that Allah guards him from acts of disobedience in His own way. Let no servant grieve or feel lonely when he is ill and suffering. Truly, Allah compels the servant He loves to repent and to be patient. Just as tangled threads cannot be straightened except by the patient hands of a female weaver, so too does Allah rectify the faults of His servant through punishment and trials. Truly, Allah alone is the Most Patient and the Most Gentle toward the servants He loves.

O Ahmad, have you not heard the story of the Ark of Prophet Nuh, filled with the filth of oppressive and disbelieving people? Then Allah cleansed that filth with filth itself, through a crippled man unable to walk, accompanied by some of his relatives. The envy of the crippled man towards our father Nuh led him to throw his own filth upon the Ark. Allah then caused him to fall into the filth covering the bottom of the Ark of Prophet Nuh. Allah cured him of his disability, and in his joy he proclaimed that the filth inside the Ark of Prophet Nuh could cure all illnesses from which he suffered, along with those who accompanied him. Thus, the disbelievers increased in polytheism and greed. Some of them took the filth from the Ark as medicine for themselves and their families, while others took large quantities to sell to those who desired the filth of the Ark of Prophet Nuh. Eventually, all the filth that covered the bottom of the Ark was removed and exhausted. Truly, this was Allah’s way of aiding and cleansing His Prophet from humiliation and oppression. Reflect upon this, together with your followers. Indeed, slander, insults, and the filth of tongues from the haters are never left by Allah without a “cleanser”, and Allah’s help is perfect. Be patient, and when insults and slander come, say: “Truly, we are not judges; we are only bearers of tidings and warnings, and Allah is the Most Just Judge.”

O Ahmad, has it not become evident that two great vessels in your land have split apart? Some of them do not know the message you conveyed; others accuse you of lying while using my name to seek worldly gain. Do they not understand that Makhfiy means “that which is concealed and hidden”? Truly, they are the ones who exchange the Hereafter for the world, and they will regret their deeds. Let them unite to cleanse your land of the people of Sadum and of those who lie in the name of the Daughter of your noble grandfather Muhammad. Reflect.

O Ahmad, have I not informed you of the calamity of illness? Truly, every disease that Allah sends down upon His creation, Allah has also created its cure for His servants who are patient and mindful.

Indeed, those who consume intoxicants and the like (drugs), those who commit adultery, and those who devour the rights of the poor and the orphans—when illness afflicts them, that illness is among Allah’s punishments so that they may repent. As for the righteous servants of Allah, their illness is Allah’s way of speaking to them and erasing their sins. They are among the fortunate.
