Heavy Rain and Shining Sun as a Sign of the Presence of Prophet Khidr (AS) in Negeri Sembilan; Dogs Accompanying the Inhabitants of ‘Illiyyin and the Punishment in Sijjin for Those Who Commit Major Sins Without Repentance
Prophet Khidr (AS) came to me with his gentle smile and his distinctive greeting. This time, however, he was dressed in attire commonly worn in the present day. He said:
O Ahmad, peace filled with goodness be upon you, upon the ummah of the Noble Prophet Muhammad, and upon the ummah of the Noble Prophet within your vessel. Indeed, I felt the trembling of that woman’s heart when I was upon her land, and I supplicated for her and for both of her parents. Then Allah willed to bring heavy rain to Negeri Sembilan, while part of the sun still shone, accompanied by thunder that roared only nine times. That was a sign that I, Balya bin Malkan, was present there.
O Ahmad, no one bears the burden of sin except that Allah awaits his repentance. Let the ummah of the Noble Prophet Muhammad hasten to seek Allah’s forgiveness, for indeed Allah’s forgiveness is never closed to the ummah of the Noble Prophet Muhammad until the Day of Judgement arrives—except for those who associate partners with Allah and persist in envy until the end of time.
O Ahmad, truly I have witnessed within my turban that in the gardens of Paradise sits a woman filled with happiness together with a loyal dog, enjoying delicious sustenance. In another part of the gardens of Paradise, young men are seen rejoicing, praising one another and glorifying Rabb al-‘Alamin, accompanied by a dog that faithfully walks with them through those wondrous gardens. In yet another place, within Raudhatul Jannah in ‘Illiyyin, several dogs walk with their owners, enjoying the beauty of the gardens before the true Paradise. This is proof of the Perfect Justice of Allah over all that He has decreed. Indeed, Allah gathers the inhabitants of Paradise with those whom they love.
O Ahmad, I was not permitted to show you the gardens of Paradise. Rather, I was commanded to ask you to restrain your fear, for Allah willed that you witness what I was shown—punishment within Sijjin, within the graves of those who claimed faith in Allah yet committed major sins. Truly, within Hell there is a cold that destroys. So constantly strive to rectify your faith and your heart.
O Ahmad, write what I say and what Allah has shown, for those who are in the freezing and destructive punishment of the grave believe that they have truly entered the Hell of Zamharir. Their screams tear through their mouths, and every inch of their skin feels the agony of piercing cold that penetrates to their bones. Their frozen bodies are then struck with massive hammers until they shatter into fragments, accompanied by terrifying screams, as every inch of their shattered bodies feels pain as though slashed by sharp, serrated swords. Then Allah restores them once again with great swiftness. This continues until the Day of Resurrection. Indeed, in the world they were hypocrites who committed major sins, and many of them were from the people of Sodom—those who engaged in backbiting, slander, and envy without repentance until their deaths.
O Ahmad, do they think that the warning Allah inflicted upon their sacred buildings that were burned was something trivial? Do they consider the tremors that occurred to be mere ordinary disasters? Do they think that nothing more severe will occur after all of that? Truly, within those sacred buildings that were burned were many from the people of Sodom who hid behind their appearances and their tongues. Many officials in that land regarded adultery and the people of Sodom as something normal and insignificant. Indeed, beneath their feet, the earth awaits the command of Rabb al-‘Alamin.
O Ahmad, there is no better reward with Allah than the highest Paradise alongside Allah and the Noble Prophet Muhammad for those who attain martyrdom in the Holy Land. Every Thursday night I am present at As-Sahlah, and at dawn before Fajr I am at Al-Aqsa Mosque, prostrating in sorrow and with hopeful supplication, longing that I might be acknowledged by the Noble Prophet Muhammad as part of his ummah, and that Allah would permit me to stand among the fighters for the Holy Land. Yet Allah does not accept my supplication. Therefore, let the ummah of the Noble Prophet Muhammad perform prayers and supplications for the ummah of the Noble Prophet Muhammad in the Holy Land, that Allah may grant them tranquillity and swiftly save those who are starving and who meet martyrdom through hunger, thirst, and helplessness.
No one will enter Jannah if within their heart there is no love for their fellow Muslim brothers and sisters. So strive to be better in practising this.
O Ahmad, the Noble Messenger of Allah never forgot a person’s kindness, even if it was as little as giving a single grain of wheat. He spread out his clean white turban to welcome an elderly woman who had once breastfed him, behaving like a joyful child welcoming his mother—embracing her, lowering himself when standing, and sitting with her. Such was his most noble character. Therefore, visit the grave of your foster mother and pray for her. Do not forget her, and maintain ties of kinship with your foster siblings.
O Ahmad, call back several of your companions who stand at the forefront of your vessel. Prepare a covenant that is just and wise, so that your descendants may emulate and uphold what is contained within that strong bond upon the land of Arkhabil. Prepare plans before Ramadan arrives, based on what Shodif and Khizba taught regarding agriculture and trade, and let your followers obey and implement them. This will bring greater blessings and happiness, and establish a legacy of justice and beauty in brotherhood, until Allah gathers you together with the Noble Prophet Muhammad in Jannah. Indeed, I witnessed a woman who passed away within your vessel entering ‘Illiyyin without reckoning. Do they not sense the fragrance of their sister’s grave? Truly, Allah has preserved the fragrance of the grave of your follower until the end of the world.
O Ahmad, hasten to return to the hill I showed you. Bring provisions, pay attention to your sleeping hours, and do not neglect the rights of your body. Indeed, some adornments I gave you were meant to console you in the face of the tormenting pain, to the extent that I shed tears upon witnessing it. If Allah had permitted me to embrace you and ease your pain, I would have done so all day long. Yet Allah does not wish to indulge you. Embracing you would have been a release of my longing for your ancestor Hasan bin Ali, who was patient and gentle of heart. Write this and do not erase it as you have erased previous accounts. I do not praise you, but rather honour the blood that flows within you, and I hope for the intercession of your grandfather, so that your followers may understand it. Indeed, refined character(adab )is the wrapping of Allah’s Light and Allah’s Knowledge within the heart.
O Ahmad, truly, in the Holy Land attention has begun to turn towards you, and in several distant lands of the Prophets. Remain in your hidden state, except for those who will dream of meeting your noble grandfather, the Messenger of Allah, who will speak to them about you. Some of them are warriors, and some are scholars and learned men. None will meet you except by Allah’s permission, and I, Balya bin Malkan, will be very close to you. Do not be anxious, and do not fear.
