“Clear Evidence of Allah’s Protection for the Followers of Ahmad and the Turbaned Balian Who Misappropriated the Sky News.”

Prophet Khidr AS came to me with tearful eyes, as if holding back his sorrow. He said:

“O Ahmad, sit with me for a moment. I can no longer contain the heaviness in my chest after hearing the news from the Lord of all worlds, and I must convey it to you. Truly, the heart feels broken and weighed with grief.”

“O Ahmad, be patient when facing the slander and trials that befall you. You are not the same as the shamans who dress in turbans and robes. Some among them steal messages and claim they are the ones who receive guidance. Just as the owner of a well is not the same as those who only scoop its water with their hands, thinking it will quench their thirst. That is how the devil steals news from the heavens, adding falsehoods for worldly gain.”

“O Ahmad, has Allah not clearly protected the homes of your followers? One of your companions did not leave his home even when his wife and children had evacuated on the chief’s orders. He sought refuge by calling upon Allah the Almighty, your Noble Grandfather Muhammad, then my name and yours. He slept and dreamt of meeting you, and Allah kept the roaring flood of mud, stones, and timber away from his home. This is the best form of trust in Allah’s promises. Prostrate yourself and seek Allah’s protection for the disaster that will come to the south of your land.”

“O Ahmad, you are not sinful for being unable to return to your homeland due to provisions and border restrictions. You are not among the cowards. It is better for you to strengthen your ‘structure’ and fulfil Allah’s command to safeguard your land and the land of your brothers. The number of ‘sticks’ in my hand is equal to the companions in your vessel; let them be grateful.”

“O Ahmad, hold back your sorrow for your mother and companions who are ill. No illness afflicts a servant except that Allah erases their sins and forgives those who are patient.”

“O Ahmad, stand and remain where I have shown you. The burden on your wives in your trade is heavy, and the devil seeks to cause discord and suspicion between them. Do they not realise the weight you carry? Or do they wish for me—Balya bin Malkan—to ask Allah to place you with me upon Qaf? My sorrow is because of your heart that Allah showed me in my dream last night, and because of the insults and wrongful schemes of those who wish to disgrace you.”

“O Ahmad, Allah has permitted me to ask you: do you allow me to defend you openly from those who insult and wrong you?”

(I smiled and shook my head, and he embraced me tightly.)

“O Ahmad, write everything that has happened and all that I have told you this morning—along with my tears and the rumbling skies over the south of your homeland. The seas and heavens will stir, for I will proclaim takbir as Allah commands. Go quickly to the hill I have shown you, and I will meet you there. Do the Ummah of the Noble Prophet Muhammad not pay attention to Allah’s warnings?”

“O Ahmad, a man is not sinful for withholding his wealth from rebellious wives, nor are women sinful for seeking khul‘ from ungrateful and unjust husbands. Allah has sent down His laws, and the Noble Prophet Muhammad delivered them perfectly. Do not reject the women who come to ask you about these matters.”

“O Ahmad, there once was a flourishing nation with strong buildings. Allah sent a tempest, shaking part of it until the land was levelled. Such is Allah’s punishment in this world for those who transgress. The punishment in the Hereafter is far more severe. Let them repent.”

“O Ahmad, it is not wise to take back a flower that has fallen into impurity when you are standing in a garden full of pure, fragrant blossoms. Many righteous servants of Allah live in your land and the lands of your followers. Have I not shown you the two choices? What blinds your eyes to their beauty and your nose to their fragrance? She did not come except to help you in trade and in the buildings that will rise through your vessel.”

“O Ahmad, your four earliest followers await blessings, and one of them has begun a small farm. Just as river water cannot reach the pools without bamboo channels crafted by human hands, nothing succeeds without one who possesses knowledge.”

“O Ahmad, let your companion and his wife raise the baby girl who will come into the structure you are building. There is no difference between one’s own child and a child of the Ummah of the Noble Prophet Muhammad raised with love. Let them build a business with you. It will bring blessings to their land and their livestock. They await your instruction with sincerity, for they are truly within your vessel. The qualities of your companion resemble Abu Sufyan, the companion and brother of your Noble Grandfather Muhammad. If you entrust him, he will carry the trust well. Tell Mustafa that I, Balya bin Malkan, give him this message. Make him a leader in one of your trades, teach him what I have conveyed, and advise him to hire workers from your land. This brings safety and blessings.”

“O Ahmad, the time has come for you to call upon the one who quietly observes you. He is one of your first four companions on the journey of my footprints. Let them avoid conflict and follow Abu Sufyan’s advice in your vessel.”

“O Ahmad, do not be overly worried about your companion’s mother. Allah loves her remembrance of Him in her illness. She is one who always prays for you. Hold back your tears. Allah intends to open blessings upon her child and the child’s spouse. Let them be patient.”

“O Ahmad, do you not realise that many among the Ummah of the Noble Prophet Muhammad speculate about you? Say: Ahmad is hidden from the minds and assumptions of people. He is not a character from a writer’s imagination, nor is he mad or seeking praise. He does not seek recognition from those who claim lineage to the Noble Prophet. I, Balya bin Malkan, will testify before Allah. Ahmad never claimed anything; rather, the Noble Prophet Muhammad explained his identity to scholars through their dreams, and he himself—by Allah’s permission—explained it to his followers who dreamt of him. Do they not realise that lying about your Noble Grandfather brings worldly and eternal punishment? As will happen to one who concealed news from the parents of the ‘sleeping prince’ until the decree arrives, and calamity comes upon their grand homes.”

“O Ahmad, do not leave your homeland. Decline invitations from the people of Fars and Madinah, even if they offer things that appeal to you, until Allah’s appointed time. Tell them to come to your land, and meet them wearing your malamatiyyah garment, with the gentle yet firm words I have taught you.”

“O Ahmad, what you endure will not burden you if they understand it. Betrayers will find no peace until they repent and make right their wrongs.”

“O Ahmad, visit your followers tonight as you usually do with me—those by the sea and those by the hills. It will lessen the tremors in their land and drive back the approaching waves. Stay there tomorrow until I instruct you to return to your first wife’s home. And during your journey, let your companion fulfil the command to divide ‘half and half’ in the freeing of slaves at year’s end.”

“O Ahmad, in lawful and honest trade lie nine doors of provision if only people knew.”

“O Ahmad, I, Balya bin Malkan, want you to take care of your sleep and your meals. Do not treat yourself this way. Your wives do not understand the depth of your love for them. Tell them my words:

DO THEY THINK THAT I, BALYA BIN MALKAN, DO NOT GRIEVE OVER THE INSULTS AND SLANDER AGAINST AHMAD?

DO THEY THINK I HAVE NO TENDER HEART?

DO THEY THINK I COMMAND AHMAD AS I PLEASE?

I AM A WITNESS BETWEEN YOU AND AHMAD, JUST AS HIS TEARS FALL NOT BEFORE YOU BUT UPON MY TURBAN THAT RESTS ON MY THIGH.

“You must lower your voices and not allow the Devil to overcome your hearts, except for the woman who has requested khulʿ. You are not the same as those who come later, for the right and left hands are not permitted to be released except for the adornment upon them.”

“O Ahmad, you are not required to spend excessive time with both wives, but rather with the Ummah of the Noble Prophet Muhammad. You divide your time only by Allah’s clear command with me.”

“O Ahmad, reconnect ties with the family who has long awaited you—where you and your first wife once maintained kinship. They await your visit and advice. Your Noble Grandfather prioritised ties with distant companions who often struggled and among whom were many in need. This brings blessings and tranquillity.”

“O Ahmad, do not abandon your ‘seat’ when outside your home. There is no shame in this, nor anything stopping your hands from embracing your companions.”

“O Ahmad, your brother in Malacca must hasten to organise the farming on Sabah land and be patient in managing the fields.”

“O Ahmad, visit the vast land Allah has given you and be patient in completing the work. Allah has made it lawful for you. Continue giving its rights to the three orphans of your companion who has passed away. You are not sinful for withholding it from those who betrayed you, even if you once mentioned it. Be patient.”

“O Ahmad, ask your two companions to dig a well at the ‘feet’ of their land in the month of ******, year *****. Beneath their feet once lay the blessing that drew the colonisers. Water once flowed easily across that land.”
